“I love reframing cravings as a way that your body is trying to communicate with you, because to me that seems so much kinder than labeling them as something bad or wrong.”
Diet culture has a sneaky way of showing up in our everyday lives, whether it’s feeling out of control around sugar, getting weighed at the doctor’s office, or worrying about how society’s obsession with thinness is impacting our kids. In this Q&A episode, I’m answering the questions I get most often on Instagram, with no blame, no fear, and zero oversimplified advice. We cover what actually drives intense food cravings, how to stand up for yourself in medical settings, and what you can do to help raise kids who feel good about food and their bodies.
You’ll hear practical, evidence-based advice for tackling sugar cravings through the lens of intuitive eating, not by cutting out your favorite foods, but by understanding what your body is really asking for. I also break down how to handle doctors who are laser-focused on BMI, and give you the advocacy scripts, tips, and reminders you need for more empowering healthcare visits. Plus, as a mom and dietitian, I get real about the pressures parents face in a diet-obsessed world, and how to make home a safer place for our kids.
We’re going deeper than just what to eat or avoid. We’re unpacking emotional eating, reframing guilt around “bad” foods, and talking boundaries with medical professionals. You’ll walk away with tools to make sense of cravings, advocate for yourself, and set a positive example for the next generation, all with more compassion and less perfection.
