“I created Diet Culture Rebel because we truly do need to rebel against diet culture. Not politely sidestep it, not quietly disagree with it, but actively push back on the messages that keep us stuck struggling with food and our bodies.”
Rebelling against diet culture doesn’t have to mean flipping your entire world upside down overnight. After years of living with guilt, restriction, and pressure, I’m sharing the five real-life ways I’m giving diet culture the middle finger right now. I want you to feel more grounded, confident, and at peace with food, because accepting these small acts of rebellion has changed my life in sustainable and powerful ways.
In this solo episode, I get personal about what pushing back against the toxic messages of diet culture looks like for me today. From listening to my own hunger cues, to focusing on movement that feels good and fits my busy life as a mom, to refusing to praise weight loss above all else, I break down the exact mindsets and habits I practice every day. These aren’t just tips; they’re my ongoing journey, and I hope they’ll inspire you to reflect on what works for your body and needs too.
As always, my approach is all about kindness, compassion, and choosing what honors your health and happiness. You don’t need to do everything at once or do it perfectly. Start with one shift, build your confidence, and see how these acts of rebellion can bring you more joy, freedom, and trust in your body.
